Answering a Fool 1

Bless you

“4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
Lest you also be like him.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly,
Lest he be wise in his own eyes.” Proverbs 26.4,5

This verse offers us a real and tangible application for some good old wisdom in our lives.

Doctors usually see this pharmacy cialis without prescription prescribe medication to treat the condition. First off, what is a fool? Well, it says in Psalms 14.1 that “The fool says in his heart, There is no God.” This person may say there is no God at all, or he may say (putting my full battle gear on) like me sometimes, “God is not really worried or concerned, or keeping record about this little facet of my life right now. He understands my need or frustration etc.” But that is not God’s real nature and I know it. I just temporarily redefine His perfect nature (deny Him and thereby saying there is no God) to allow me to get my needs met sometimes without the extra guilt. Results? No dice.

I am choosing to start with me as an example because more often than not the real fools in our lives are ourselves.

In verse 4 we see that we should not answer ANY fool lest we also be like him. This can be most clearly stated as not answering a fool by using his own assumptions. So, using me, when I say “God is o.k. with my poor actions”. I should instead counter myself with the truth that God is not o.k. with any poor actions. Remember Eve? She answered the snake based on the snakes assumptions. And I imagine Eve was very confident in her argument. The problem was that her words, versus God’s words, didn’t have any power. It was her argument not God’s truth. The failure in this is that she was leaning on her own understanding and not on faith in what God had said. In this she was really no different than the snake. She was just doing what was “right in their (her) own eyes” Judges 21.25 And when what the snake said made more sense -to her- she did that.

“..lest you also be like him.”

In looking at how I, Anthony Saracini, play the fool enables me to more clearly see the same in another. And maybe be able to help if I can. Remember, “plank, speck. Plank, speck” Matthew 7.3-5
